HARRY AND MEGHAN ARE REPORTEDLY “OKAY ABOUT LEAVING FROGMORE COTTAGE”

A quick update on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Frogmore Cottage eviction drama for your Saturday: The Sussexes are reportedly “okay” about being told they have to vacate their (er, previous?) Windsor home. (ICYMI: Harry and Meghan were reportedly given the boot from their UK residence pretty much right after the publication of Harry’s controversial memoir, Spare.)

The news that Harry and Meghan are “okay” with being evicted from their UK residence comes via a new report from The Times (via the Daily Mail), which also says that they’re honestly not as “stunned” about the eviction notice as previous reports might have made it seem. Apparently, Harry and Meghan’s attitude about the whole situation is, “If we need to move out, we will get ourselves out,” which seems pretty chill and healthy, all things considered.

In addition to stressing a less “stunned” reaction, this report suggests a *much* more low-key attitude overall about Evictiongate from Team Sussex than reports from earlier in the week did. As the Daily Mail notes, one particular report suggested that a royal insider had described the decision as “cruel” to Harry and Meghan’s personal fave royal reporter, Omid Scobie.

“It all feels very final and like a cruel punishment. It’s like [the family] want to cut them out of the picture for good,” the source reportedly told Scobie of the Frogmore Cottage eviction news. “Harry and Meghan have until early summer to vacate. Initially, they were given just weeks, but now they have at least until after the coronation.”

Of course, this is all still very much unconfirmed gossip. The only *official* word on the matter so far has been this incredibly brief and to-the-point statement from a Sussex representative: “We can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”

So until Team Sussex releases another statement (presumably worded, “We can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are ‘okay’ with the Frogmore Cottage eviction”), we’ll take all of this with a grain of salt.
